Work as a Doctor in Australia

Clothing

Meeting people | Clothing | Polite behaviour | Holidays

Australians typically dress very casually even for work (although you should still be neat and tidy/well-groomed). This is something that you may notice in the hospital or clinic situation, as doctors in Australia do not necessarily wear white coats or in any way distinguish themselves by their clothing.

This is reflective of our relaxed attitudes and desire to be on equal terms with the people around us.

There is more information on clothing in Australia on the website of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
