Employ an overseas trained doctor

A warm welcome

Calvary Healthcare Riverina 'Calvary Healthcare has been good to me. The people are friendly and they've gone out of their way to make me feel welcome and to encourage me to meet more people.' Dr Michael McCready

Calvary Healthcare Riverina, based in the busy regional city of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, has two overseas trained doctors among its staff Dr Michael McCready who hails from Canada and practices as a consultant physician cardiologist, and Dr Gwilym Mumford from Zimbabwe, who is a general physician.

Social functions were organised to welcome the two doctors to the city and they have since thrived in the region, bringing valuable skills and experience to local medical care. Calvary Healthcare Riverina & Regional Imaging Riverina employ a recruitment coordinator who assists overseas trained doctors and their families with housing, education, creating social networks and employment for spouses.

Dr McCready has been delighted by the diverse range of work and the ongoing learning opportunities available to him in the Australian medical system. The Australian culture is also very similar to that of Canada and Dr McCready feels that the adjustment to living and working in Australia was relatively easy for his family.
