Women in Rural Practice (WIRP) was established by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) to better represent the needs of women in rural practice. Their website also has an online chat facility, WIRP CHAT, that provides a safe and secure environment in which all female doctors, trainees, students and their supporters can communicate, network and interact with each other.

From seeking advice and solutions to particular problems of issues and career guidance to debating hot topics or just wanting to know who else is out there, WIRP CHAT intends to reduce feelings of professional and personal isolation that female doctors and students may be experiencing by letting members know that they are not on their own.
