This program provides a general overview for OTDs of Australian medical culture and how the Australian healthcare system works. The program looks at Medicare, and presents insights from supervising doctors, regional training providers, accreditation bodies, and professional organisations. It aims to explore learning opportunities, various resources available, and potential solutions to the challenges faced by OTDs practicing in rural and remote Australia.
The program also includes case studies of OTDs working in rural and remote Australia and the benefits of orientation, mentoring, and support.
